SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Twitter's holiday party last night caused a stir, but for all the wrong reasons. The company decided it would be fun, and in keeping with their logo, to serve employees and their guests all of the birds mentioned in the song "The 12 Days of Christmas".
Local ornithologists were aghast. "Swans are rare and beautiful creatures, as are all birds," said Gertrude McDiller, President of the San Francisco Bay Area Audobon Society. "We should be enjoying them, not eating them."
Twitter spokesperson, Twee Ter, claims McDiller is a hypocrite because she has tweeted about ordering Chicken McNuggets for her kids on more than one occasion. "I'm not a hypocrite," McDiller responded, "because no birds are killed to make the McNuggets. This whole thing is for the birds!"
The City of San Francisco is considering legal action against Twitter for killing dozens of turtle doves, otherwise known as pigeons, around Union Square. Twitter claims this was the idea of invited guest John McAfee, and produced dozens of photos of McAffee running around the streets of downtown San Francisco hitting pigeons with the dull end of a hammer.
Twitter says that San Francisco, and San Franciscans, had better just keep quiet about anything the company does or they might leave the city. "We mean it this time," said Ter. "I mean, do you have any idea how difficult it is to get six geese to lay five golden rings?!?"
